Good Times

Well Todd had his Stag and Doe last night.. and it went pretty well.

Being in the wedding party, I had to lend a hand in setting things up, but that was pretty painless (there were a number of girls involved, so they did all the planning ;)
I got picked up around 2:30 in the afternoon and we went out shopping for food and supplies.. $40 in sliced meats later I had to buy the napkins and plates and stuff.. but since I was paying for it I bought the huge packs of paper plates and napkins, and I got to keep the leftovers for myself, because I'm almost out. I also now have all the leftover plastic utensils and cups..

no dishes for a month! woohoo!

Anyways, after we got it all set up (Todd's friend managed to score some nice big speakers and a soundboard for like a $20 rental, so he just hooked his iPod into it and didn't need a DJ, he just made a playlist of the usual type party songs and all was well) As my assigned duty, I spent the first few hours manning the alcohol ticket table and got to laugh inwardly at people dropping $20-50 on beer and such..but it was for a good cause (it's a shame we were only making like 10-75 cents per ticket)
The real money maker was the toonie toss. It's a game where you put a bottle on the floor and people stand at the other side of the room and toss/slide/throw toonies at it, and at the end, whoever gets closest gets a nice big bottle of booze. Nobody predicted how many toonies would come across that floor, they made like $250+ on that game!
Other than that, there was the usual 50/50 draw, a few goody basket door prizes and a little spin the wheel gambling type deal.

Also, another good way to convince people to leave their money is the pie in the face contest. Two jars (one for Todd, one for Val) are left out all night and people can put money in them. At the end of the night, whoever's jar has the most money in it gets a pie in the face. Everyone seemed to have the same idea as Todd ended up with like $12 to Val's $50, plus we auctioned off the chance to be the one to pie her, and ended up in a bidding war between Todd's mom and Val's dad, with all of their friends combining money, Val's dad won with $50, and amusement ensued. I'll post pics when I get them, I think someone took a video as well.
All in all, it was a decent turnout, probably about 50 people showed up, and they made more money than they spent, and everyone had a good time. I also managed to snag the left over apple crumble stuff that val's mom made. SCORE! (it's really tasty)

Anyways, That pretty much sums it up, and now I have to go get ready for a family get together and my cousin's stag and doe wich is tonight, but I just have to show up and eat stuff so that's ok with me.

More as it breaks.

Silly guy! Oh well... see? I knew you wouldn't starve out there on your own!

I just hope you don't end up being like 700lbs by the time I get back. Ok?
